What to Expect
A Kundalini Yoga Class Experience
– Interiorisation
Most of the postures are practiced with the eyes closed, so that you can focus all your attention towards your inner world, rich in feelings, images, sounds, sensations and emotions.
-Guidance
Your will be guided from start to end by the warm voice of your teacher through the sequence of postures, relaxations and meditations. The guidance is given in such a way that you could practice the whole class without opening your eyes.
– no words ≠ silence
The class is held with as little words as possible, inviting the left brain (logical mind) to relax and go to deep sleep mode. On the other hand, the class is not quiet, since the breathwork, mantras, some pieces of music and dynamic postures keep a live atmosphere.
– no series to remember
There is no need to “learn things” or to “learn things to do” in kundalini yoga, you just have to learn the essential : the art of being.
-Keep up and ease out!
We will encourage you to “keep up” with some of the postures you engage with. In fact, most of the posture help you meet an unknown territory and your natural defenses are to avoid going/staying there – that’s why we encourage you to keep up. Yet we do encourage you to respect yourselves and not go to places you do not want to experiment. These places can be physical (pain), emotional or mental (memories) or any other experience you deem not good for you.
-expansion
We often have feedbacks from our students stating that they encounter feelings of expansion during the class. This feeling can be felt during the postures, the mediation or the relaxation. This feeling is ok, for some, it’s part of their development process.
-after effects
Practicing Kundalini yoga helps you tap into your deep resources, these aspects of you that have waited in the dark before expressing themselves. These potentialities you shelter in yourself are like “joyful energies” ready to start their growing process, kind of “awaiting the right time to do so”. So, when they get the chance, they will not linger much longer and most of our students are the witness of spontaneous and fruitful transformations in their lives.

F.A.Q
Why should I practice 1 month try out before getting involved ?
TRY OUT class A rich EXPERIENCe
Every spirit, every body, has its particularities. It is essential to find your own Yoga.
Trying out your yoga class will allow you to “know yoga through yoga.
“Yoga must be known through Yoga, Yoga is manifested through Yoga”. Vyasa-commentary of the Yogas-Sutras of Patanjali
Yoga is above all an experience that you live, an experience of the senses, before being an “idea that pleases us”. A yoga session is an hour of calm, joy, feeling, centering and moving.
Kundalini Yoga is rich of these experiences (breathing, meditations, static and dynamic postures, relaxation, endurance, stretches, vibrations, concentrations, internal contractions, etc …).
Kundalini yoga is rich and diverse and your experience will be different each time you bring yourself to practice. One single yoga class cannot give you the scope of the potentialities this Yoga can offer you. That’s why we suggest you come try a full month of yoga class for a fraction of the normal fees.
How to prepare your try out class ?
- Notify the teacher of your attendance.
- Arrive early to relax and / or warm up before class.
- Come on an empty stomach and drink 2 to 3 glasses of water before the session.
- Bring a flexible cloth made of natural fibers and if possible of white color.
- Women in the menstrual period will not force on exercises such as “Sat Kriya” or any other contraction of the belly or lower abdomen as well as on the “fire breathing “
- Do not talk during class, stay silent, internalized, aware of your feelings and your breathing.
- During the yoga class, do not force, do not apply violence to your body to hold a posture. Kundalini Yoga is not performance yoga. Do what you can with your own possibilities and learn to respect yourself. The teacher will encourage you to surpass yourself, go “beyond”, but do not hurt yourself.
- You can ask your teacher how to practice at home. He will guide you on a series of postures adapted to your request and related to what you are looking for in this discipline.
- And most importantly: have fun! A yoga class is not a serious and dreary practice, it is a joyful, deep and lively practice.
